ISO/IEC 20000 Certification

BS 15000 - Hits South Africa

Colin Rudd

Full Story

The British Standard for Service Management has now become a South African standard.  The South African Standards Bureau (SABS) and Standards South Africa (STANSA) have recently released South African versions of the highly successful BS 15000 Service Management standard.  Details can be found on either of the SABS or STANSA web sites:

Numerous organisations in South Africa are busy producing plans for the achievement of certification.  Some companies in South Africa are asking their vendors and outsourcers for roadmaps and timescales for achieving certification, as a prerequisite for doing business.  The standard and certification are really taking off in South Africa as it has in the rest of the world.

There are now 19 organisations world wide that have achieved BS 15000 certification since itSMF launched its Certification Scheme in July 2003  These include organisations from USA, Germany, India, Hungary, Spain and the UK.
